BECOM is delighted about receiving an award as well as nominated for the Austrian National Prize.

We are happy to announce, that we was honoured yesterday at the 30th Burgenland Innovation Award ceremony for our project "Complex Miniaturisation of Embedded Vision for the Smart City of Tomorrow." in the category large company. The award was presented during a prestigious event at Cselley Mühle in Oslip. Organised by Wirtschaftsagentur Burgenland GmbH, the Innovation Award recognises outstanding technological developments and was handed over by representatives from politics and industry.

“We are truly delighted to receive this award, which affirms our company’s innovative spirit and underscores our leadership in embedded vision technology,” said Roman Bock, CEO of BECOM Electronics. “This recognition highlights the significant contribution we are making towards the development of smarter, more sustainable cities.”

The award-winning project is a cutting-edge solution designed for smart city applications. It features a compact 2D camera that, thanks to advanced miniaturisation and high-performance capabilities, can be deployed in urban infrastructure. Equipped with infrared and RGB imaging, motorised zoom and focus settings, as well as Power over Ethernet, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 5G connectivity, the camera is engineered for rapid and straightforward installation. Simply entering width and distance is sufficient for the camera to automatically adjust itself.

This innovation supports municipalities and city authorities in implementing smart technologies that enhance urban infrastructure sustainably. It contributes to optimising traffic management, public safety, and environmental monitoring while enabling real-time, data-driven decisions through advanced AI-based image processing.

The "Complex Miniaturisation of Embedded Vision" project is a prime example of BECOM’s long-term innovation strategy. With a focus on continuous improvement, sustainability, and technological excellence, the company regularly invests in research and development, collaborating closely with strategic partners in academia and industry.

The award ceremony was attended by prominent figures from politics and business, including Governor Mag. Hans Peter Doskozil and State Councillor Dr Leonhard Schneemann. The keynote speech was delivered by the renowned digitalisation and AI expert, Mag. Martin Giesswein.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Wirtschaftsagentur Burgenland GmbH and all those involved for this recognition, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to develop innovative solutions that will shape the cities of the future.
