Sustainability

BECOM not only endeavours to develop, manufacture and supply products that are durable and reliable, but also to consider the entire product life cycle in order to keep the footprint we leave behind today as small as possible in the future.

To the extent permitted by customer and project requirements, compliance with Directive 2009/125/EC is taken into account in the development of contract and in-house developments. This creates a framework for the design of ‘energy-related products’ (ErP).

Due to the strong project dependency of our production, it is not possible to meaningfully analyse the use of materials by weight or volume or to provide information on the proportion of recycled raw materials. Nevertheless, all measures have been and are being taken in the logistics area in order to operate a sustainable economy. Here are a few examples:

  • Deliveries
  • Optimisation and transport
  • Collective deliveries
  • Weekly deliveries from distributors
  • Supplier evaluation
  • COC

When packaging series parts, we rely on reusable packaging that does not result in any direct waste. In recent years, we have succeeded in constantly increasing the proportion of directly reusable containers. When delivering to customers, we take particular care to use as little packaging material as possible. It goes without saying that BECOM uses recycled materials for packaging wherever technically possible.

Compliance with REACH and ROHS is an integral part of our processes.

As a supplier to the automotive industry, we always fulfil our obligation under Directive 2000/53/EC on end-of-life vehicles to register our products in the IMDS (International Material Data System).
