People and workplace

People are at the centre of our company

Depending on the economic situation, BECOM tries zu invest where it is most important.

  • Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths
  • Diverse and interesting tasks
  • An attractive workplace in a financially stable, internationally-oriented, and forward-looking company
  • Training from day one (1st Day Training)
  • Development programs in cooperation with a training center for production personnel
  • Comprehensive apprenticeship training
  • Regular internal training at plant and departmental levels

Through these measures, we maintain employee turnover at a benchmark level, which is low compared to the industry average (15% in the electronics industry in 2014).

  • Whether employee is male or female
  • Full-time or part-time
  • Permanent, temporary, or temporary worker
  • Nationality

All company benefits and facilities are available equally to everyone.

We provide support within the legal and company framework for:

  • Maternity/paternity leave
  • Paternity month
  • Return to work

In bi-annual informational company meetings, the entire workforce is informed by management about the past economic development of the company and the general future strategy and development. From this, individual departmental developments are derived, which are discussed in at least monthly informational meetings. Even though the economy often requires quick reactions, all employees are kept informed in time about developments.

Regular anonymous employee surveys on the following topics

  • Health
  • Coping with work
  • Supervisors
  • Working atmosphere

Employee surveys help management to take measures to improve the situation of each individual and the community as a whole.

In the annual management review, top management assesses the health and safety measures in accordance with the legal requirements and also the effectiveness of further support measures. Certification in accordance with OHSAS 18001 is not currently planned.

An occupational safety committee consisting of:

  • Management
  • Company doctor
  • Safety specialist
  • Safety representatives
  • Works council

is responsible for improving the situation in the company.

Regular meetings are held to work on improving occupational safety and measures are then implemented accordingly. Urgent employee issues are dealt with in the course of management meetings.

BECOM is proud of the fact that there have been no fatalities and no long-term injuries since the company was founded. The nature of the injuries is such that they could just as easily have happened at home or during leisure time. The endeavour to derive immediate measures from all incidents and to implement them quickly and consistently is not only beneficial for the safety of everyone, but is also in the interests of the company, as it minimises the downtime caused by sick leave.

A qualification and skills matrix are the most important tools to help us select the right specialists for the jobs. Together with e-recruiting and targeted training measures, this enables us to optimise staffing levels.

BECOM continuously invests in training programmes for its employees. On average, 0.6% of working time is used for further training.

In addition to specialised training courses, BECOM offers:

  • 5 minute training - topics such as: Environment, energy, safety, ...
  • General safety training and ESD instruction
  • Apprentice training
  • Intercultural understanding workshops
  • Driver safety training
  • Management training, etc.

All further education and training programmes are aimed at acquiring or improving skills. The annual employee appraisals are aimed at assessing all staff.

Should this, or new orders and customer requirements, result in differences between the actual and target status of competences, course requirements are triggered by the line manager.

At BECOM, equal work = equal pay

There are no differences based on gender, origin or other reasons.

People are at the centre of our company.
